BALLYHARA STRIKE UP THE BAND
Comment on
important kennel lines in the pedigree.
Desi is the result of a line breeding through his
grand dam on both sides. The Vennessee dogs speak
for themselves, but I was particularly interested
in dogs closely related to Ch. Vennessee's Vi-Lee
Venture. I long admired pictures and the few dogs
I had seen in person from the Vi-Lee family. I feel
they complemented the family I was working with at
the time.
What qualities and virtues have been contributed by key dogs in the stud's
pedigree? Comment on important breedings in the stud dog's pedigree.
Ch. Society Daytime Hero, although different in overall
type than Desi, possessed the same virtues: length
of head, "cleanness", eye placement, turn
of muzzle, etc. Likewise, Ch. Kitleigh Knickerbocker
possessed the same qualities as Daytime Hero. Both
of these great dogs being the grandsires -- Desi's
get definitely share their influence.
Comment on successful outcrosses as represented in the stud's pedigree.
The breeding that produced Daytime Hero, although a complete
outcross, was probably the most important breeding. Ch. Society
Elite Daytime Star and Ch. Shoreham Kailyn of the Hills were each
the result of half brother/sister breeding themselves. Therefore,
the resulting pups were very dominant.
