STUD DOGS -- CLARION WORLD CLASS
Talk about outcrosses with your stud dog, if any.
Shane has not been used with many outcross bitches. He has not sired many litters except for those in our immediate family. Most of his get have been from close linebreedings, except for the period when he was at stud in Argentina with Alenclaud Collies. There he produced with bitches that were a combination of Lakefield, the kennel of Alexandre Carvalho, which is based on a combination of English bloodlines combined with Milas and Clarion through the Nightrider son, Brazilian Champion Clarion's All Night Long, and a stud dog which I bred and exported to Argentina who was a son of Ch. Starr's Taylor Made and a Ch. Clarion Color My World daughter -- International Ch. Clarion Star Studded. So actually, most of Shane's breedings were to bitches of related backgrounds. The results of these breedings are yet to be seen as his offspring there are quite young and just being incorporated into the breeding program, but his influence is already apparent.

Comment on virtues of the stud dog's get.
I think that Shane's best get definitely have their sire's stamp -- especially in the overall picture, presence and profile. They show great similarity in expression and head qualities and are easy to pick out in the ring, as they possess a style and an attitude that is recognizable.

Ch. Clarion Marmalade Skies, Reserve at the 1995 CCA at just eight months of age, is an outstanding example of the head type for which Shane is dominant.

The last two years have been especially exciting for us as we had much success with Shane's offspring. Clarion Paint A Rumor won two specialty majors including a spectacular BOB over specials at the Hunterdon Hills Collie Club, and now needs just a few minors to finish. She is a full sister to Ch. Clarion Colors of the Wind. This year, four daughters of Shane and Ch. HiCrest Ultraviolet all had big specialty wins and another tri-color son finished with four majors. Our Clarion HiCrest Violet Vixen began her career with a thrilling BOB over specials for a five-point major at the Collie Club of New England under George Horn.
