The Southern California Collie Clubs Annual Winter Specialty Show was a Celebration of Bob and Joan Berfield. It was bright crisp cold winter day at Pierce College, but that did not deter Collie People from turning out. Their Judge for the show was none other than CCA President Mrs. Pati Merrill. Pati like many others, received countless hours of mentoring, and was adopted into their "Family". Terrie Parker was the Sweeps Judge, and she shared her thanks for not only their friendship but a special Collie, Ch. Stoneypoint Spartacus. One of Joan and Bob's adopted daughters, Gwen Grinder-Medlin told the story of her first Collie Champion, Ch. Shondell's Stoneypoint Steven CD. The Berfield's helped Gwen acquire "KC", and encouraged her through his earning his Championship and Companion Dog title. Another of the Berfield's adopted daughters, Geri Cox recalled her first Collie litter, her bitch Sadie bred to Bob and Joan's stud dog Chaps. To say the least Bob and Joan have given back to the breed, as it should be, and in a way that has built friendships upon friendships. Congratulations Bob and Joan Berfield for your contributions, and continued success.
