Ring Patterns: A look back at October 2016

South Jersey Collie Club leads the way in October

There were 13 specialty shows held in five states during October: California, Colorado, Kentucky, Nebraska and New Jersey. Joan Kirkland came away with the largest entry judged, surveying 59 collies -- 37 roughs and 22 smooths, at the Saturday afternoon independent specialty show in Buena, New Jersey on October 22, 2016. Judge Kirkland was approved for the breed in June of 2005. Of the 13 specialty shows this month, 2 were designated specialties -- the Saturday morning South Jersey specialty hosted by Gloucester County Kennel Club and the Collie Club of Colorado show held on October 28, hosted by Continental Divide Herding Association. The largest entry of roughs came under judge Kirkland with 37 and the largest entry of smooths were exhibited under Sandra Wrenn at Collie Club of Kentucky with 24, which incidentally, was the same number of roughs exhibited.
