Midwest Collie Club, a local breed specialty club active in Southeast Michigan, is tasked with the mission of promoting fine Collies. Recognized by the American Kennel Club, MWCC was founded in 1930 by knowledgeable Detroit-area Collie breeders, owners, exhibitors, fanciers, mentors, and AKC-licensed judges and handlers. Today, MWCC members also are Collie breeders, owners, exhibitors, fanciers, mentors, handlers and licensed AKC judges who remain dedicated to the purposes and traditions initiated by the club’s founders.

MWCC promotes fine Collies based on the Collie Club of America breed standard, as approved by the AKC. MWCC members pursue the mission of promoting fine Collies through education, exhibition and example. Each year, MWCC presents two specialty shows and obedience matches, plus at least one puppy match. Such MWCC events consistently attract nationally-prominent judges’ panels and solid entries of fine Collies in breed and obedience. Other activities include complementary educational and social events related to our club mission.

MWCC Monthly Membership Meetings

You don't have to be a breeder to be a member of MWCC. You can be a one collie owner who has a collie as a pet. Joining MWCC is a great way to make friends with collie owners and learn more about this great breed from knowledgeable owners.

We meet the second Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. for dinner and our meeting is at 7 p.m. at the following location.

Ponderosa Steak House
38350 W. Ten Mile Road
Farmington Hills, MI
(between Halsted and Haggerty Road)
