STUD DOGS -- CH. KANEBRIAR CLOCKWISE
Comment on important kennel lines in the pedigree.
Although no longer visible on recent pedigrees, Parader
is the dominant kennel line behind our dogs. Although
I have mainly linebred on my original stock, over
the years some outcrosses were made from time-to-time
to other family lines, such as Arrowhill, Wickmere,
Mel Bar and Cinderella.
What qualities and virtues have been contributed
by key dogs in the stud's pedigree? Comment on
important breedings in the stud dog's pedigree.
Ch. Kanebriar Prime Time contributed a balanced and
elegant outline, good arch of neck, properly structured
front and rear, and an abundant coat of rich color
and correct texture. He was also dominant for his
excellent backskull, natural ears and lovely eyes.
The breeding of Prime Time to Kanebriars Keepsake
(a daughter of his litter sister, Ch. Kanebriar Confection)
produced the tri-color, Ch. Kanebriar Prime Minister.
This dog had an exquisite headpiece with a perfectly
placed stop and exceptionally beautiful eyes. I also
attribute improvement in muzzles and head planes to
him. Ch. Kanebriar Patriot excelled in, and produced,
lightness of head, elegance in outline and true, single
tracking movement.
Ch. Kanebriar Keepsake Pioneer excelled in head detail
and eye, and was dominant in passing those virtues
on to his get. Out of the few litters he sired, Pioneer
produced nine champions of great quality that included
several Specialty, Group and AOM Winners, as well
as two All-breed Best In Show winners and this year's
CCA BOV Smooth winner, Ch. Keepsake Telesis. The two
most influential bitches in the pedigree are Ch. Kanebriar
Jola Jubilee and her daughter, Ch. Kanebriar Confection.
Confection passed on her own virtues through her daughters,
the litter sisters Kanebriar Keepsake and Ch. Kanebriar
Gambit Indeed.
